On the 19th November the St. John of God community celebrated the 60th anniversary of their arrival in Gwangju. They came in 1958 at the invitation of Archbishop Harold Henry. Brother Brendan is the only surviving member of the first group that came sixty years ago. Brother Timothy, the then prior, used to consult with Pat Brandon on how better to approach certain issues in the light of Korean culture.

During the last four days of November we had four one day retreats for our benefactors. One day each in Mokpo, Sunchon, Jeonju and Gwangju. Fr. James Nolan directed each of the four days.

MISSION PROMOTION
As we come to the end of another year, mission promotion can report that there were twenty-three parishes visited during the year. Now we go scouting out parishes for the months of January and February of next year. You have to be scouting two to three months beforehand if you wish to get an appeal at a particular time.

Thank you all for your prayers, support, and good wishes for the mendicants of our Society.
